Singularity is a remarkable kinetic sculpture that serves as a captivating focal point in any room, offering both visual impact and a calming, meditative effect. Its size and intricate movement draw you in, while the natural beauty of the materials creates a serene atmosphere.

The sculpture features a stunning combination of imported Baltic birch and polymer-coated aluminum for the pattern wheels, which are larger to enhance the graceful motion. The frame, pattern wheels, and other wood components are carefully crafted to preserve the natural wood grain—no paint is used, so the rich texture and warmth of the wood are fully showcased. These components are meticulously sanded and stained where necessary, and treated with multiple coats of durable urethane to protect them from UV light and humidity while maintaining that beautiful, raw wood appearance.

The winding pulley and center end caps are inlaid with polymer-coated aluminum, giving the sculpture a touch of modern elegance and enhancing its overall artistic appeal.

For the drive mechanism, I’ve chosen polished brass pins instead of the typical wooden ratchet wheels found in lesser-quality kinetic sculptures. This choice not only elevates the sculpture’s look with a hint of luxury but also ensures durability and reliability. The motion is powered by a stainless steel constant force spring, delivering smooth, consistent energy through a steel spring belt—far superior to rubber belts that degrade over time. This ensures that the sculpture’s motion remains fluid and long-lasting.

Winding Singularity is easy—simply turn the lower pulley counterclockwise about 22 times, and the sculpture will spring to life with a gentle push from the spring. As the pattern wheels slow and reverse, they trigger another push, creating an endlessly flowing motion that’s both fascinating and soothing.

The colors of the pattern wheels and metallic inlays can be customized, making Singularity a truly unique and personal statement piece that will enhance your space for years to come.
